The water-cooled screw chiller is a large-scale refrigeration unit primarily employed in central air-conditioning systems and industrial cooling processes. It operates on the vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, with its core components comprising a semi-hermetic twin-screw compressor, shell-and-tube heat exchangers for the condenser and evaporator, an oil separator, and an electrical control system.
Within the evaporator, the liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the chilled water and evaporates. The resulting low-pressure vapor is then compressed into a high-temperature, high-pressure gas by the compressor. This gas flows to the condenser, where it is cooled and liquefied by circulating cooling water, rejecting its heat to the outside. Finally, the refrigerant returns to the evaporator after passing through a throttling device, completing the cycle. This chiller efficiently regulates and supplies chilled water, finding widespread application in commercial buildings and industrial production for precise temperature control.
